Jag's Latest Doctors Appointment

These are the x-rays from February 09 of Jag's left hip.

This is the x-ray from this past week, March 2011, of his left hip.
It looks as if his hip has started the rebuilding.  I can see a difference in the x-rays.  We still have a few years, but at least the regrowth is starting.

10 Months

Where does the time go?  I can't believe that my little Anya is getting so big.  About 2 weeks ago, she went for a check up and was 21 1/2 pounds and 28 inches long.  I compared her numbers to those of her brothers and she happens to be the same weight that Davis was at 12 months, but he was 3 inches longer.  That is why her thighs are big, she is just short.  Hopefully she will take after her mother and get long legs and not the shorter Fawcett legs (My legs go up to Elaine's neck or something close.).  I couldn't choose, so I've included a ton of pictures.  She's just so cute!

What little girl doesn't love to play with a rubber snake?

She is almost able to crawl.  Almost.  She can get anywhere when she uses her little monkey toes.

Darling!

She can find the smallest little piece of lint on the floor.

Chompers!
A few random thoughts about Anya: 10 month old babies are wiggly.  They are hard to dress, change, and take pictures of.  She wanted to tear the sign the moment she saw it.  Anya loves to "talk" and is a real jabber-jaws, as her dad likes to call her.  She is loud.  She is nick-named Whoopie (as in cushion) among many other names.  She is pleasant and usually very sweet.  I am afraid that she may have her grandma Thull's sweating problem, but it is still a little soon to know.  Jaggy whines more than me about her growing up too quickly.  We all wish that she'd just stay this size for a little longer. (As much as she likes food, that is doubtful.)

Park Day

Sunshine, swings, bikes, and a picnic.  A beautiful spring day.

A Little Secret

I insist that my children look decent most of the time.  I like their faces and noses clean.  Their hair must be combed or covered with a hat.  They need to have matching clothing.  I always send them to change their clothes if they don't look decent.  Some school mornings will see several outfits before we find a winner.

However, we have a little secret...these boys look horrible when they sleep.  Yes, sleep.  PJs are whatever they can find and some of the combinations are really awesome

Davis has pajamas that he has worn since he was 5.  I made them for him for Christmas.  They then became shorts when he got too tall.  They have slowly started to fall apart and we not-so-lovingly refer to them as his Loin Cloth.  (Not pictured due to the graphic nature of the photos.)  He has worn these jammies for almost 7 years.

Christian usually has on his shorty's from 3 years ago, and whatever is laying around for the top.  If he is wearing a shirt it is often a HUGE, red, dress of a shirt that cover his shorty's.

Embarrassed that we are taking their picture!
Jag ALWAYS has his shirt inside out and backwards. For a kid who is so particular about how others look (remember long ago the girl with the messy face who loved him? *If only I could link that here) he never cares about how he looks. Never.

Noah would prefer that his jammies match- top and bottom- but he has to make exceptions if the weather is too cold or hot. If he has a character on his PJs, then he is really happy.  Mismatched two character jammies are the best.

As long as this is our little secret, then it really shouldn't matter what they wear to bed. I won't, however, let them participate in their school pajama days. That would be embarrassing.

Good- bye Snaggle

Snaggletooth has gone from the one snaggle to 4 teeth in just over a week.  Fun week at my house!  She loves to chomp on cold carrots when she is trying to get her teeth through.  I have bags of carrots in my fridge as she has 2 more teeth trying to come in.

At least her dad quit calling her Bucky.

Arggg, It's MY Treasure

Noah's birthday pictures/adventures continue.  He was a complete stinker on the day of his birthday.  Fortunately, because he was now 4, he could spend longer in timeout...4 minutes.  Everything made him scream something about, "it's my birthday."  I was about done with his special day by lunchtime.

He got a scooter with only 2 wheels.  His previous scooter had the babyish, 3 wheels. But he is big and thinks that it is great.  But don't touch it.

Davis tried to help fix the handlebars, but Noah didn't want him to touch his scooter.  So like any grumpy pirate he growled.  Davis, like any big brother, hung on and laughingly fought to fix them anyway.  Take my help whether you want it or not!

Noah also got cap guns with caps.  That is what every grumpy pirate needs, a gun so that he doesn't have to argue.  Fight is over, I shot you.  And he did.

I was thrilled when the birthday was over and the grumpy pirate went to bed.  So thrilled that I quickly stabbed every balloon and tore down all the crepe paper.  No need to let him think that his birthday would extend another day.

A few notables about my little pirate:
*Noah is like angel and devil in one.  His emotions switch within seconds.
*Nobody, NOBODY pouts (shoulders slumped and lip hanging out)better than him.
*He was born knowing how to pout.
*Noah is the most loving child.  He is always rubbing me or telling me that he loves me.
*He has always been polite without needing a reminder.  Please and thank you are really things that he thinks
about.
*He eats about 3 yogurts a day and never eats meat.

*Noah is tough!  He can down a brother in under 30 seconds.  Tackled flat.
*He loves to write letters and has been able to write his name for at least 6 months.  He also colors inside the lines and draws pictures of everything.  But don't touch his paper, or you may get scriptures to the head.
*If he were a girl, he'd have a dozen purses filled with crap.  He always says, "I like to keep garbage."  He means it.  Every tag and receipt is actually a treasure.
*He loves his sister.  Loves her.  However, he did give her a flip to the head one day when he was wanting her to stay out of his things.  It was the first sign that Anya may not rule the house and get everything she ever wants.
*He has the sweetest little face and big blue eyes.  He loves to wear his hair in a rhino horn, and doesn't want it messed with.
*He is forever my buddy!  Grumpy, greedy pirate or sweet little boy, He is the best!

Arggg, Me Treasure, Part 1

Noah finally turned 4!  He wanted a pirate party with 4 little friends and his brothers.

Here are the pictures of his party, maybe a few too many.

Birthday boy sitting with his treasure chest cake:

A close up of the cake.  The invitation, rolled in front, was a treasure map to get to our house.

The safest sword for a pirate is one that can be deflated if it gets too dangerous.  Here is Noah all "Pirated Up."

The best part is that his little friends all came in costume.  It was totally unplanned, but so perfect.  Gotta love kids who totally get into a party.  This is Noah's friend Mahali.  She insisted that her mother put red lipstick on her to "Complete the look."  Ha.  When these two were in nursery they got in trouble for kissing, Noah didn't end up with red lips on today.

Making chocolate dipped swords out of pretzels.  Safest way to eliminate any sword fights.

They played pin the eye patch on the pirate and musical islands.

Every pirate loves a treasure hunt.  The kids went on a treasure hunt outside by following pictures of different locations in the yard.  Noah with his booty bag, goodie bag.

There were other kids there, but only Mahali seems to be in all the pictures.

Sure sign of a successful party...snoozing pirate.

Happy Birthday little Noah.
