8 Months

Bed Head

Gulf of Mexico

We went to Mustang Island and Padre Island.  It was misting, but we couldn't pass on the opportunity to run on the sand and gather seashells.  The boys always love to do that.  We definately want to go back when the weather is sunny.

Karate kids training on the beach.  Jag is at the age where he is truely UNABLE to be normal in a picture.

USS Lexington

Corpus has the WWII ship, the USS Lexington.  The following is an attempt to save ya'll (yep, in Texas) $12, if you don't mind spending the money, skip the pictures.  Davis, Christian and Darin went and toured the boat.  I took the little ones to eat lunch and tour gift stores instead.

Texas State Aquarium

We took a quick trip to Corpus Christi.  While there we went to the Aquarium.  It was colder than we would have liked, and mildly rainy.  It could have been worse.  We had a great time, really enjoyed being together, and getting away.

Standing outside the Aquarium, in front of the USS Lexington.

Watching the dolphin show.  That is why they aren't looking at the camera smiling.

Petting the sting rays was a favorite activity. At least 4 of the kids ended up soaked.

Davis looks like he wants to kick some Sting Ray butt!  He was just soaked by a passing ray.  It was really hysterical.  I guess that is the lesson to be learned..."they are still wild animals"  that are tired of molesting little hands rubbing on them.
3 boys trying to squish into the seahorse viewing area.

 The winner.

 Crabs.
Watching the bird show at the aquarium.  I guess that is the bonus of the aquarium.  Why else would birds be there?

A Few of Anya

I hesitate to put this picture on here because of the fact that I look like a horrid Star Wars villian with all my wrinkles.  But, Anya was darling and I just had to over look the fact that I wasn't and put it in anyway.

Her after nap hair makes me laugh.  It just stands straight up.  I really need to find some little curlers.

Anya was playing with Davis.  He would throw all the socks at her and she would squeal and laugh.  They both thought that it was a great way to spend an afternoon.

Yep, 6 Flags

Yep, we went to 6 Flags again.  It was one of the last things we did before Darin left and one of the first things we did when he got home.  It helps that grandpa and grandma gave us season passes for Christmas.  Even more importantly is that this is December 30th!  Sunny, warm, 78 degrees, December 30th.  I really don't miss snow.  At all!

Jag and Noah were determined to make me sick on the spinning teapots.  It almost worked.

I love this picture, even though Davis is giving a nose scratch, because the boys are all snuggled together.
Darin took this picture and isn't in any pictures. I won't go on any ride that looks like a ferris wheel, they freak me out. I was yelling at the boys to sit down from down on the ground. What was their dad thinking?

Ouch!!

Sometimes being around my children hurts. Davis was the latest to totally hurt his mom's feelings.

He started laughing during breakfast then said, "Know why I'm laughing?" "You look like Emperor Palpatine. When he is really wrinkly and zapping Mace."

Here I am nicely making his breakfast, reading the Bible, and getting him ready to leave for school.  Trying to be a good mom, and he is just RUDE.

I said, "That is probably one of the rudest things anyone has ever said to me. Thanks."

"No, I mean your forehead wrinkles remind me of that."

"You aren't helping yourself Buddy!"

"No, not the really old one, but when he is younger and just really wrinkled."

I think I want to hide!

He tries to tell me that it is OK and that he has these wrinkles too. Yeah, he's 11, wrinkles haven't been introduced to him yet.

I told him that it is his fault that I have been in a constant state of shock and surprise for the last dozen years. That would cause anyone to have a few forehead wrinkles.

Every time I look in the mirror all I see is that horrible Emperor Palpatine!

I am off to either cut drastic bangs to cover my Emperor Palpatine forehead, or cash in my ROTH to pay for Botox, or more likely grab my lightsaber and teach the young one a lesson!

(I am sure that this is somehow Darin's fault. He decided that New Year's Eve should be a Star Wars Marathon until all hours of the night.)
