Black Is Not Slimming

Straight on view was all I was going to do, but Darin made me turn sideways.

Darin told me that if I didn't post any pictures except of my feet, people would think that my entire body was swollen and large. Actually, I just don't think that posting any pictures of myself is that great. I was going to take other pictures, but honestly I don't think that I would like any of them either.

Hurray for May, baby will come sometime in May!

Wanted

Wanted the fat footed person who stole my shoes. I think it was one of Cinderella's step-sisters.

Please give my shoes and feet back. (I just have to say that I was laughing hysterically when I saw the giant foot stuffed into my shoes. I am taking lots of photos to keep these moments recorded. I will laugh for years, unless my feet do not return in June, then I will cry.)

Finally Celebrating

Darin came home.

We were finally able to celebrate Christian's birthday.

We gave Christian the choice of what he wanted to do, and he picked Chuckie E. Cheese. It was a crazy Saturday night, but the boys thought it was fantastic.

I even made his cake. He still couldn't make a decision, so I just made him a "present." Davis wanted to know if Christian had picked it and what kind of cake it was. When I told him "no" and that it was a delicious carrot orange cake, he said that he was going to start his planning now. He wanted me to know that his cake will be starting with chocolate. He didn't think that Christian was very smart for leaving the decision up to his mom. Christian, however, thought the cake was great even if it did have carrots in it.

FYI

Pony Beads. They are nice for crafts. They are great to sting on anything to make a beautiful necklace. They are great to carry in a pocket.

They are also the exact size of a little 3 yr. old's left nostril. EXACT, can't get it out with anything, SIZE. Especially bad if that 3 yr. old starts to panic and sniff.

Why do kids find body holes so fun? Can't he just stick his finger in his nose like the rest of the boys?

(Just a note, after the panic of it all wore off we were able to stretch his nostril enough to see the hole in the bead. I could then hook the end of tweezers into the hole and slowly ease it out. There was a moment when I thought I'd have to go to the Dr. and explain the emergency.)

What? A Birthday Too?

Poor Christian had his birthday fell on a super busy weekend.

We had to leave for Davis' baseball game at 730. It went long, but they eventually won (Davis got a home run and, of course, I cried). Then we ran straight to the Cub Scout Space Derby. Our first Derby wasn't too successful, but the boys enjoyed themselves.

Action shot!

We stopped by Wendy's for lunch and Frosty's. The only thing that Christian ever put on his birthday wish list was a gift certificate so that he could get a Frosty. Crazy kid.

From lunch to Christian's soccer pictures and game. It was in the afternoon so it was hot, but he did well.

Finally home by 330. I didn't make Christian a cake (uggh) and he still hasn't decided what he wants it to look like. [Christian really can't make decisions. He doesn't really care. He is vanilla, goes with anything. This makes him the hardest kid to buy for! His list is usually just whatever his brothers want, but with his birthday first...no way to make a decision (Davis is keeping his list a secret. He hates Christian copying his ideas). Thus he asked for a frosty, and can't decide on a theme for a cake or possible party.] I have a cake promised for when his dad is home. He did enjoy a Chocolate pie from Marie Calendars. It was a good day, but way too busy. I am so glad that Christian is really easy going and didn't get all grumpy about his birthday.

Noah and Jag just couldn't help themselves, they had to blow out the candles too.

Now that he is 9, he is growing a mustache. He asked me to delete this, but I thought it was too funny. It is a mom's job to be embarrassing.

Easter Part 1 and 2

Easter Part 1: Egg Hunt and baskets on Conference weekend.

Easter Part 2: Finally, the wearing of the clothes. With boys it is really easy, I just make sure that they have new and matching ties (I don't know how much longer Davis will go for this).

Darin has been at training. We met him at a near-by base for a Sunday visit. The boys just love checking out the airplanes with their dad.

Nesting

It is hard to be an effective "nester" if you can't bend or walk or even move very well. I am feeling the urges to get my house in order. Every room I walk into just screams re-organize me, but I just can't do it. I have been trying to put things into bins, but I lose my steam quickly or get heartburn. So I sit. I need to nest. My inner squirrel is just begging to be prepared. (Maybe It thinks I must nest in order for the baby to fully develop.)

Hurray! I found strawberries at Costco and NEEDED to make jam. No bending was required, so I now have 36 containers/cups of strawberry freezer jam ready to be eaten. My inner squirrel is happy for now and my toast will be happy for most of the year.

Kindergarten Zoo Program

What is better than a bunch of kindergarten kids singing corny zoo songs and doing cheesy actions? Nothing, except knowing that this is the beginning of the end. The end of school is coming and we are going to be doing the slow winding down from now until the end of May.

Jag is in the front, purple shirt on the right. He had to be "talked to" before the program to make sure that he would sing. He may know the words, but hates singing in programs. He described the Christmas singing concert as one of the worst things he had to do in school. He may have sang, but the actions were half done, once again "who would want to look stupid in front of parents?" At least it was over. Let's count down to the end of school now!

We were crammed into the HOT cafeteria. I was growling and glowing.
Noah, he sweats like his grandma.

Camo Eggs

Six eggs each. That was the final decision.

We got a Camo egg kit in honor of the dad leaving on Easter, and colored the eggs in crazy colors. Favorites being gray and brown. Jag just couldn't help himself and whenever he had dye on his fingers, he just had to lick them. Yuck.

The boys have been eating eggs ever since. I made Noah's into potato salad and deviled eggs. I am trying really hard to get that eggy fart smell out of my fridge ASAP. I guess it didn't require all the brain power that I gave it. Now I am stuck thinking about things that matter, but would rather avoid.
