Jag's Obsession

Jag bugged me weekly throughout kindergarten as to when he would lose a tooth. Davis lost his first tooth at 7 and Christian was 8. Jaggy just turned 6, so chances are it would be awhile before he lost one. It didn't help that every kid in his kindergarten class seemed to have one wiggling and falling out. He desperately wanted one too. But, nothing, not even a wiggle. Then his cousin Sailor started losing her teeth, this just made him more desperate to lose a tooth. We asked the dentist how long he thought it would be, a little longer was his kind reply.

While eating dinner at his grandma's, Jag bit on his plastic fork. It must have been perfectly placed, because his tooth went from 0 to 60 on the wiggle chart. Hurray!! A wiggle. Actually the tooth was just hanging, he must have really bit it hard.

Now a new obsession, get the tooth out! He wiggled and wiggled. He asked EVERYONE to wiggle his tooth. He tried to bite into an apple. He thought of tying his tooth to a string and then hooking it to a car and rolling the car across the floor. The imagination runs wild when you have a loose tooth.

Finally, I agreed to put us all out of our waiting misery and pull the tooth out.

Wiggling with his tongue.

Is this a happy boy or what!

So very pleased!
He is sure that he has another wiggly tooth, and if he turns his hand around it looks like the tooth twists. The tooth, however, is stuck firmly in his mouth. But for now, he will constantly ask me to feel and see if I can pull it out. Nope, it's still not ready.

Cherries

Noah LOVES cherries.
Yes, pitting cherries makes him sweat.

Sterling

I have a couple of boys that would love to grow up and live on a farm. They all love visiting grandpa's house and farm. It isn't hard to see why.

Cooking lunch with Uncle Drew.
Dogs! Poor Jazzy hated the boys.

Trampoline with grandpa and cousin Sasha.

Drew's waterslide. The water was hose cold, but Noah just couldn't go down enough times. He would try to knock his brothers off the slide if they weren't fast enough.

Real cowboys.

I didn't take pictures of the 4 wheeler rides with uncle Dusty, the numerous free ice cream cones from grandma's store, or the feeding of the chickens, horses, or turtles.

The boys would move to the farm if they could. It isn't hard to see why they love it.

FYI

I spent 3 weeks in Utah doing a ton of stuff with family, I didn't post once while I was there. Now I am trying to catch up and get it all on. Darin has requested photos of our adventures. I'm sorry for the bazillion posts.

A Fishing Trip

While visiting my dad in Sterling, he took the boys fishing. I think that Davis and Christian had been once or twice before, but nobody remembered much of it. They were really excited because they love to eat fish and thought that catching their own dinner sounded cool. We went up Manti canyon with grandpa and Drew.
Jag was so excited to fish. He'd found a small bug net in Drew's bedroom and thought that it would be perfect for scooping up a fish. As soon as we got to the lake, Jag jumped out of the van and ran to the water's edge. Next thing I know he is up to his ankles stuck in the mud. Fortunately we'd brought another pair of shoes. Quick change and he runs to the fishing location. I hadn't even made it all the way there when I see Jag with nothing but his legs sticking out of the water. He'd slid down on his belly and lost his balance while trying to scoop at a tiny fish. Head first into the lake. Dirty and wet he was discouraged at his first fishing attempts. Grandpa gave him a pole and showed him the right way to fish. Hurray! Jaggy caught the first fish of the day. By the end, and another close call later, the bug net was tossed into the trash.

Everyone was able to catch fish, even Noah. Although Noah wasn't very patient. As soon as grandpa got the line in the water, he'd start sneakily winding it in. Once he got lucky and found a fish on the other end.

With the amount of fish that the boys were all catching, Grandpa spent a lot of his time running from one line/boy to another. He never even got to put his own pole in the water. He spent a lot of time doing this...

And then doing this...

The boys and Drew admiring some of their dinner. (Actually they are comparing sizes to see who caught the largest fish.)

Yep, Anya and I went fishing too.

Hogle Zoo

Every trip to Utah must include a trip to the zoo.

Look at the animals that we found! Noah is in the background throwing a fit because he can't sit on the head. He was the scariest animal of all.

More animals.

Grandma Fawcett treated the kids to a ride on the carousel, a real treat.

Even Anya liked the zoo.

July 3rd/4th

We arrived in SLC just in time for the July 4th festivities. We went to Henefer to spend our time enjoying the small town holiday celebration. We loved it. There was a carnival with lots of booths for grandma to buy stuff at (lots of spoiling for the boys). Ice cream cones for a dime and BINGO with prizes. There was a parade that we got to see both forward and backwards. They even threw candy in both directions. There were cousins and relatives and food. It really doesn't get better. We were very happy to be in Utah.

Anya looking especially festive.
She started smiling at 4 weeks. She's probably laughing at her crazy hair sticking out.

My cute boys waiting for the parade to start.

Noah and cousins checking out the parade. I told Noah that if he waved, then they would throw candy to him. I just assumed that he would know that he should pick up the candy after it was thrown. Nope. He waved and everyone else picked up candy. Thankfully, Darin's cousins (standing behind him) would pick up candy for him. Half way through the parade, Noah finally caught on and became a champ at the candy grab.

Noah loved his cousin Mia!

We were able to visit Darin's sweet grandma while in Henefer.

In a small town you are able to do this! What a treat. Riding in the back of a moving pick up truck is such a great childhood memory. I always loved riding in the back of my dad's truck. I took a picture to make sure that Darin saw how "reckless" his dad was with the kids.

Noah showing off his July shirt. It couldn't be more true.

On the 4th we went to my mom's house for a BBQ with my awesome family. Check out this motley crew waiting for fireworks to start. (Yes, they humored me and my departure before dark and did a handful of fireworks in the light. My boys loved them and didn't even realize that fireworks happen at night.)

Cousins are the BEST! My boys now realize what they have been missing.
