July 3rd/4th

We arrived in SLC just in time for the July 4th festivities. We went to Henefer to spend our time enjoying the small town holiday celebration. We loved it. There was a carnival with lots of booths for grandma to buy stuff at (lots of spoiling for the boys). Ice cream cones for a dime and BINGO with prizes. There was a parade that we got to see both forward and backwards. They even threw candy in both directions. There were cousins and relatives and food. It really doesn't get better. We were very happy to be in Utah.

Noah and cousins checking out the parade. I told Noah that if he waved, then they would throw candy to him. I just assumed that he would know that he should pick up the candy after it was thrown. Nope. He waved and everyone else picked up candy. Thankfully, Darin's cousins (standing behind him) would pick up candy for him. Half way through the parade, Noah finally caught on and became a champ at the candy grab.

We were able to visit Darin's sweet grandma while in Henefer.

In a small town you are able to do this! What a treat. Riding in the back of a moving pick up truck is such a great childhood memory. I always loved riding in the back of my dad's truck. I took a picture to make sure that Darin saw how "reckless" his dad was with the kids.

On the 4th we went to my mom's house for a BBQ with my awesome family. Check out this motley crew waiting for fireworks to start. (Yes, they humored me and my departure before dark and did a handful of fireworks in the light. My boys loved them and didn't even realize that fireworks happen at night.)

Cousins are the BEST! My boys now realize what they have been missing.
