German Chocolate Cake?

Darin just had a birthday. He loves German chocolate cake. I had to send an email to Utah to get a recipe for German chocolate cake, while living in Germany. That doesn’t seem right. Our landlord, a Real Live German, came over that night to look at some house issues. He tried the cake. He said that he’d never had anything like it. No German chocolate cake in Germany. That just isn’t right at all. Why the name?


Then we started talking about Canadian bacon…that just doesn’t make sense either.

This is not German Chocolate, but cherry strusel cake from a bakery.  We had to have something officially German on his day.

    Yeps... too cool. Love german chocolate cake.
    But...even better to eat it in Germany even if it really isnt a German food. :) ~Nate
